BioOnce upon a time, there was an alien race known as the Bane. They wanted to enslave the population of Earth, so they made a completely organic soft drink, Bubble Shock(!), with a completely organic alien component that would enable the Bane to control those who ingested it. Only it didn't work on 2% of the population, so they needed to bring their numbers up to 100% success. In order to do this, they created a human archetype to test and fix their drink on.
Only he woke up, and the Bane's plan went rather downhill from there. The archetype was found by Maria Jackson, and, with the help of Sarah Jane Smith and Maria Jackson, eventually defeated his creaters and saved the planet. Sarah Jane Smith gave the archetype a name- Luke- and adopted him. Together with Maria Jackson and later Clyde Langer, Luke and Sarah Jane Smith save the planet from alien forces.
Luke looks like your average fourteen-year-old human because he is human. The only physical sign his origins are anything but normal is his lack of navel, due to having been grown instead of conceived. Since the Bane essentually created him with the best bits of the DNA they had available, Luke shows amazingly high intelligence and an eidetic memory (Invasion of the Bane, The Lost Boy). His reflexes and hand-eye coordination are better than most children (Warriors of Kudlak), and it was revealed in The Lost Boy that Luke has enormous potential telekinetic ability, though it appears he cannot use it without the help of a MITRE headset (Magnified Intensification of Telekinetic Reactive Energies).
However, Luke is very young (about two months old as of his entry into the bar), and his social skills are lacking. He doesn't understand how and when it's appropriate to use tact, or lie, or tell jokes, and he definitely needs work understanding what is okay to tell the creepy snooping nun and what isn't.
